Advanced Apprenticeship

The Advanced Apprenticeship is a two-year placement offering Level 3 qualifications, ideal for GSCE-standard students looking for an alternative to A-level study. You get an even blend of theoretical and practical training in key areas of engineering, as well as skills within the workplace. Upon completion, advanced apprentices can progress to employment, university or equivalent pathways.

Higher Apprenticeship

The Higher Apprenticeship is a four-year placement offering Level 4 and 5 qualifications, ideal for college leavers looking for a blend of vocational and academic study. We work with the MakeUK to provide a full holistic program of study and training. Upon completion, high apprentices can progress to full-time employment at the same standard as university leavers.

Potential Pathways

Based at the Woodgate Manufacturing Facility, Birmingham, you will learn the assembly of Ishida’s core machines. You will gain hands-on experience on the shop floor, as well as learning key skills in communication and business through working with product design and quality teams to ensure proper machine assembly.

Based at the Woodgate Manufacturing Facility, Birmingham, you will learn the assembly of Ishida’s core machines on the shop floor, before accompanying the aftersales team on field projects. This will include new installations, commissioning, servicing of existing machines in operation and developing necessary customer service skills.

Based at the Woodgate Commercial Centre, Birmingham, you will learn the key procedures and practices of product design. You will be responsible for formulating the Bill of Materials for real-life design projects, producing layouts, designing contact parts and cooperating with shop floor staff to ensure correct build. As part of product design, you will learn how to use the industry-standard CAD software, Solidworks.

Based at the Woodgate Manufacturing Facility, Birmingham, you will work across the shop floor learning the manufacturing processes for our machines. You will then work within the supply chain, production planning and quality departments to further your understanding of the full production process from start to finish. This will ensure you have a solid foundation in manufacturing operations.

Ishida’s Manufacturing Facility in Poole is also a provider of apprenticeships, including our main four pathways as well as opportunities for working within electronics, fabrication, welding and product testing.

Emerging Standards

Ishida offers apprenticeships in line with Apprenticeships Standards for national apprenticeship programs as stipulated by the Government. We structure our apprenticeship frameworks in accordance with these Apprenticeship Standards, adjusting year on year to accommodate new regulations and guidelines as released by the Government
